    Default Another Just Terrible!

I am sure some of you remember the post about my DD17's Senior picture being left out of the yearbook. Well, last night was her graduation. Her last name beginning with a Wy and there not being any X, Y or Z last names in her class, she was the last name to be called to receive a diploma. Now at our school, they don't actually have the diplomas in the covers, in case someone didn't show up or something so the diplomas wouldn't get out of line. They just pass out the covers. Finally, #236 of 236 students, my DD's name is called. THERE ARE NO MORE DIPLOMA COVERS! Can you believe this? They should have extras! The principal, shocked, looked at her and said "Oh shit!, not to you!" They handed her one of the programs and said to walk off and look happy, they would get her cover to her. They had a photographer taking pics of them receiving their diploma covers. She says she thinks he walked off and didn't take her picture! I guess he thought they were done, it was taking so long for her to get across the stage. Could anything else have gone wrong? I guess she could have tripped and fell off the stage... thank goodness that didn't happen.

How frustrating. As the mother of a former teenage girl, ( and part time drama queen) I know how important the big day is. Not to sound like a cliche'....maybe though, in the years ahead, she will look back on this and laugh and have a humorous story to tell friends about the end of her senior year....congrats on her accomplishments!

My heart just breaks for her. Please let her know that it's not a reflection on her importance!!!! I'm sure she has been a blessing to you, and I pray that she knows that all of this was just a horrible bunch of mistakes!!!!

I'd call your local newspaper. Sounds like Mr. Principal & all the others responsible for this mess could use a big dose of embarrassment.

If your daughter had conducted herself so inefficiently throughout high school, she would have flunked!

Oh Bless her heart. A friend of mine had a dispute with her sons school and sent a letter to the editor of her local paper, that got the principals attention. i think it is uncalled for all the "mistakes" that have happened to her. Someone needs to be accountable.

OMG!! Did someone not know how to count?? I can't imagine them not having enough or extras just in case. I feel so sorry for your daughter. Graduation is suppose to be a happy day! I hope she didn't let this spoil her day.

I sure do agree with mikandmari.....they need to own up to what has happened. HS Graduation is such an important time. You DD deserves kudos for handling it all so well....sending your DD a Great Big Hug!

I am so sorry this is happened to her. When I graduated my first and last name was spelled wrong twice and they finally got it right. It is crazy they should have known how many was in the class. Hope it all gets right for her soon!!

wow what a way to end your school career! if there is no picture of her, i think the school should arrange for you to go to the photog's studio and get one done at their cost

That's awful! When I graduated from college, I opened my diploma case to find,,,nothing! They mistakenly thought I didn't have enough credits, thanks to my 'advisor' - and I had to wait 10 days for them to reopen their offices for the summer session before I could straighten it out. Then, another 2 week wait for a new diploma. It was frustrating - after everything I paid them, you'd think they would get it right!

    Omgosh! That is awful!

I didn't get to participate in my graduation because the counselor goofed up. I actually graduated early, in February, and I was given the wrong dates for picking up my cap and gown. They wouldn't let me particiapate without it, nor did I ever get my cap and gown OR a refund! Arrrghhh. I was so mad about it.

Oh dear that realy didn't just happen to you... Sounds like a short story in the works. Perhaps someone needs to read what happened. I wonder how much you would be paid for this one, say for a magazine such as Readers Digest. Nothing weirder than the truth.
