    Default Very scarey day

Two years ago we bought a Dell laptop. Our battery dies a few months ago so we bough another from a company in California and we were assured that it was okto use this battery in ourcomputer and it was cheaper then buying from dell.Well last Wednesday we were woken up at 645 am but a popping noise when we arrived in the living room ourlaptop was on fire. The battery was exploding. My husband garbbed it and threw it on the front lawn where I hosed it down.Needless tosay thank god we woke up and that it didnt happen when we were not home.It is just a piece of plastic that can be replaced so we are very thankful that nobody was hurt.
Turnsout that ever since Dell had problems with their batteries that warn people to not use the comp when charging the battery.
This was not the case for us but I know so many poeple with dell laptops that did not know this.
We have contacted the battery company and sent them pics.Hopefully we can work out something with them.
I hope nobosy has to go through sometyhing scarey like this again

YIKES! I am glad you woke up before the whole house was on fire! I hope that Dell will work something out with you. Have you tried to contact the other manufacturer of the battery? Maybe it was a default of the battery as well. I hope you get it resolved.
