    Default most recent raok?

What's your most recent random acts of kindness experience? Received or given. I've found many people offer to let me go ahead of them in line. I think it's so kind when they see I have a couple of items vs. their full cart.

Credit goes to my DH, Chris for this one. A couple of weeks ago he and I went to fill up my truck. The gas station was closed, meaning the only option was to pay at the pump with your debit or credit card. Not a problem for us, we always pay with the debit card. As we were pumping the gas I noticed a guy in his early twenties pull up to another pump. His mtorcycle was sputtering (running out of gas sound). Well, the guy went to the booth to attempt to pay for gas not realizing they were closed and he could not pay with cash. He got his motorcycle started and got about 100 yards down the road and it totally quit on him. DH pulled up beside him amnd told him to push the bike back to the gas station. He used our debit card to put $10 in gas in the guys motorcycle. He tried to give DH the money for it but he would not take it. Once the motorcycle guy left we were about to leave when an older lady(in her 70s I would say) pulled back up to the gas pump. (She had been there the first time we were there a few minutes before). She walked over to DH and asked if he could help her work the gas pump. She had never used her debit card and did not know how to make it work. DH showed her how to do it and then went ahead and pumped the gas for her as well. I guess she thought we looked trustworthy and felt safe enough to ask us for help which surprised me since we had been cutting grass and were filthy.

I have recently sent a couple of care packages to some people in need. It makes me feel good to help others. I also donate a crocheted item monthly to a charity cause. This month I will be donating an afghan to a Veteran.

I'm not sure if this is kindness: I still had some symphony violin parts from my college symphony and the local youth philharmonic in the city I lived in before, so yesterday, still not knowing what to do with them since I don't need them and they're stamped with the ownership info, I put them in envelopes and will mail them back to the symphonies. I'm sending back some long-forgotten cello books to my high school as well.

Saturday: Hubby and I went to have lunch at one of our favorite places.....we always talk to all the employees and ask how they are doing and make sure to tell the manager what a wonderful job they are all doing.....well came for us to pay our bill and our server said its on us.....We at first tried to say no and wanted try to pay but they weren't having it, so we had a lovely meal and we are very thankful for their thoughtfulness......

For some reason it is so hard for me to accept things thinking that someone else is more deserving, I am trying to work on this.

I was surfing craigslist wanted section, and I saw a post that a lady made, looking for a prom dress size 16 for a highschool girl that she had taken into her home. I have a closet full of dresses that I don't wear, and I just happen to be a size 16. I contacted her with pictures of a dress I thought the girl might like, and she asked me how much I wanted for it, and I told her that she could have it for free. It felt good.

If you practice RAKs enough, you don't really remember what you are doing until someone calls you on it. This is kinda dumb, but I park way out in any parking lot. On my way in, if there are loose carts blocking other spaces I'll pick up one or two. Three is hard if you aren't accustomed to moving them. Anyhow, sometimes I'll take them just to the corral, and sometimes up to the doors. Yesterday, I parked in one of my way out spaces as usual, and a guy was coming back past all these empty spaces to one right next to my car. He grabbed two carts and pushed them to a corral on the way. I was leaving my car and picking up two. We just laughed and nodded at each other. It was really nice to see someone doing the same sort of thing.

I do notice when people are being kind to others.
