Too Funny (and Gross)
Okay, so Patrick has a very sensitive sense of smell. I mean, REALLY sensitive. He gags when he smells certain things, and we cannot go to fast food restaurants because he actually vomits (just mucous, but still...it's gross and no one needs to see that when they are out to eat). When he has a poop in his pull-up, you need to take it off and put it behind you so he can't see it, and even then, if it smells too strongly, you seriously need to move him away from it or he becomes pukey-pukerson.
Anyway, tonight, I'm upstairs getting Matthew ready for bed, and I hear Rob calling, so I go downstairs and there is vomit all over the floor in a line from Patrick's room to the bathroom. I say, "What happened?" Rob (barely supressing a smile) says "I took off Patrick's shoes and he smelled his feet and he threw up."
Unbelieveable.

OMG Amy, that is WILD!!! Aww poor parents that have to deal.
Used to try to go out to Friendly's with the kids when they were young (about4-5 or so) was ok and then something changed, order food & then one kid lost it, time and again. They can both deal now so there is hope, lol. Big hug to you, Rob & Patrick too.~*Darlene*~

I feel so bad for Patrick, but I laughed when I read your post. I was just telling my fiance to move his feet closer to himself and then I read your post and it made me smile. I hope he out grows getting sick over smells, I dated someone who used to get pukey over yucky odors (like trash or skunk).

Poor thing! I've never heard of anyone being so sensitive to smells. It's probably a good thing that pregnancy isn't in his future.

My oldest is like that. Anything that smells or looks gross will make him barf. Once we went to the zoo and a bird pooped on him and he barfed right in the middle of the sidewalk. That was not fun! Another time he caught a whiff of canned dog food at my mom's house and Blahhhhh! Sorry Mom. lol

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Sorry Amy, Im only laughing b/c these are HIS OWN smells, not of other people, places or things, thats what makes it so funny. For some reason his brain wont recognize that the scents come from his body and that its ok.
Sorry that you have to deal with this and I sure hope he outgrows this smell sensitivity. Im sure its not fun to contend with at times....you can be prepared...but not for everything, all the time right?2012: The Year Of The Purge!
