Where are you going? When I used to drive from OK to TX a lot I always had to play "Amarillo by Morning" once or twice.

We used to sing when I was a kid on trips!
    Old favorites like
    Oh, Susanna
She'll be Comin Round the Mountain
    Over There
    On Top of Old Smokey
    My Darlin Clemtine
    Sweet Betsey from Pike

I'll show my age here. We used to sing a whole raft of some by Burl Ives. Funny type songs.

No advice for songs to put on the cd because I doubt you guys would enjoy hours of my faves like Ozzy/Crazy Train, Uncle Kracker/Follow Me, and lots of Gwen Stefani - LOL.

But what we do when we get tired of the radio/cds etc....is make up songs. I am a big goofball and out of nowhere I will start making up songs about passing cars and their passengers. Like one time a blue pick up with a metal toolbox and rubber boots in the back passed us. I started making up a song about the boots and their adventures. When I point to a kid it is his/her turn to add a line or two to the song and then point to someone else for their addition. We have made up songs about the kid in the car next to us picking his nose, the rims on a jacked up chevy, or the old guy who looked like Santa doing 45 mph on the interstate. We never sing anything mean, just funny stuff.

It really makes us all laugh and passes some time.

~I like to play The Ventures on roadtrips. Lots of familiar tunes but in cool, light and upbeat instrumentals. Have fun!~
