New here from Roseville, CA
I would love to adapt to a frugal lifestyle. We spend so much, and I have no idea where to start.
I googled frugal forums and found this site. I'm thrilled.
I am married. I have four kids, Ds 17, Dd 16, Dd 14, and Ds 9.
We have 1 dog and 2 cats.
I love the outdoors, so we go camping, rafting, and most recently we have decided to start kayaking. I have arranged a barter, some tile setting for two kayaks and a trailer for them. That made my month.
I'd like to know how to begin living more frugally. We have so many things we spend on that I'm not sure are neccessary or not. We do not have any cc debt, or car payments, we are taking on a mortgage, but, that's a fixed expense. I guess it's the kids mostly. Cell phone bills, xbox live accounts, cable, internet, netflix, the list goes on and on. I've already cut cable service back as far as hubby will tolerate. I'm sure the expenses will go down dramatically as kids start leaving the nest, but we can't wait.
I will read more posts and try to get ideas. Especially with the grocery bills. We spend $900 or more a month on food!!!!

Welcome from a fellow Californian!
Please forgive me if someone else already mentioned it, but The Tightwad Gazette (pick it up at your local library--the complete edition is the best) gives great tips on how to save on groceries.
Cheers,
CF
