    Default Need American Icon Ideas

    DH and I have been invited to a party where we need to dress up like an American Icon. Some of the suggestions were Bill and Hillary Clinton or Macaroni and Cheese. Something that screams "AMERICA!" I need ideas. Of course, we have little or no money to spend.

    Thanks!

    Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty? Hamburger and Hot Dog? LOL That's all I could come up with. Sounds like a fun party to attend. Can you sew? If so, I would imagine you could make some costumes pretty cheap.

    That is an awesome idea!
    If you don't know anyone to borrow cammies from you could try EBay or check out a local Army Surplus store. You can find uniforms there cheap!

    “When you get to the end of all the light you know
    and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
    faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
    you will be given something solid to stand on,
    or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller

    “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
    there are signs that the world is speedily
    coming to an end;
    bribery and corruption are common; children no
    longer obey their parents;
    every man wants to write a book and the
    end of the world is evidently approaching.”

    Janis Joplin! That's what I'm going as. I already have the clothes and jewelry and the right color/texture hair. Now all I need are the little round glasses, I'm heading to the dollar store.

    A "flower child" from the 60's. You can wear tie-dye shirts and old bell bottom jeans.

    We had so much fun last night. There were some really good costumes. I ended up going as Janis Joplin, which, honestly just wasn't much of a stretch for me. I could wear my regular clothes. I bought little round glasses and frizzed up my hair, and wore a bunch of bead necklaces.

    The party was great, I even got a henna tattoo.
