FINALLY got something done today!
I was bad....called out sick to work. I have been so busy on my days off, I haven't had time to do anything I needed to do around here, evidenced by the fact that it took me three hours to clean my kitchen! I just had to have a day off that I could just stay here and do things. When all my coffee cups were dirty this morning, and I had to wash one to have my coffee, I knew it was time to call out. I know, I'm a slob sometimes, but that's just me. I usually do a deep cleaning one day a week, but haven't had time lately.
I wish I could stay out for a week, and get everything done! My kitchen and most of my LR is now squeaky clean. I'll be working until late tonight trying to do some more so I won't waste any of my day. Of course, I took a break here and there to play on the 'puter...hehehe.
Then tomorrow it's "I owe, I owe, so off to work I go". I figure between changing out my four most used lights with CFL's and getting all those super bargains at work and other places for groceries, I've saved enough this month to take one day off without pay (No, I don't have any sick days).

Somedays we just need a day like that. I didn't leave my house at all today until time to pick up dd from basketball camp. It was nice.

I think that is what sick days are for! I tend to go to work when I am sick and save them for when the kids are sick or something comes up at home. Glad you were able to get some stuff done.

Some might want to scold for calling in "sick" for this, but I certainly understand -- I too sometimes reach the point when I just absolutely have to have a day or two to get things back together at home. On the other hand, when you reach such a point, it is very stressful, and excessive stress is a pretty legitimate reason for calling in sick. I used to think I had to be postively throwing up before I considered myself sick, but I've mellowed as I've aged, and my definitions have stretched quite a bit! Congrats on making some headway. You'll feel much better for it tomorrow.

Sometimes we need to use "mental health" days! I hope you enjoyed your day off.

Hey, Jaded, I did the exact same thing today! Sometimes I get so overwhelmed with all that needs to be done around the house, all of the work I have to do at work, plus taking care of 3 dogs and a cat, that I get soooo much more done on a day during the week than a weekend day! My house looks great, all I have left to do is to mop the floors!
