Been Mia for a few months...Stopped in to say Hi..
Hello...just wanted to let everyone who knows me here that I'm still around just not on the computer much.. Update::I'm on my 9th week of not smoking a ciggarette.... I've put on alot of weight(141 to 152lbs) as a result of not smoking(I smoked 2 to 3 packs a day) and being depressed from getting injured and not being able to work the last few months..I have a partially dislocated shoulder that is going to take along time to heal..My job( For the newbies that don't know me I'm a CNA..and have worked at my Facility for 12 1/2 yrs) will only be holding my position till July 10..so I'm pretty sure I will not be healed by then..Although I'm praying that I get better so I can go back to work..I miss my co-workers and my residents..Heck I miss me!!! I feel like I have no self worth..no identity anymore..I'm severly depressed and I'm no fun to be around with ..I'm trying to keep myself busy and think positive but I guess I'm just having a pity party for myself and can't snap out of it...I'm afraid of losing my job and the "well deserved" hourly rate of pay I make..Anywhere else I would take a $3.00 to $6.00 an hour paycut..Thats a big chunk of change to lose..and also with that kind of paycut I wouldn't be able to work my 24hrs anymore..My Dh has been great to me..and my boys most of the time I can't tolerate them...since being home everyday I see how spoiled rotten and disrepectful my children are..It's horrible to realize that I did this to them..I'm trying my hardest to straighten them out!!! No I don't mean spanking them..I'm making them do lots of the housework.... each time they misbehave thats their punishment..Thanks for listening..

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry you're going through this. I know all to well what you are going through with that shoulder, and from experiance, I know it's no walk in the park recovering from that kind of injury. I have thrown myself quite a few of those pity parties too, and they are such a drag. Try looking for the positive things in your life right now and make a list. Keep that list close by and every time you think of a new positive, add it to the list. Lets see, I'll start you off.
1. You haven't smoked a cigarette in 9 weeks!
Wow, what an accomplishment! If you can do this under the circumstances you are going through now, you can do anything you set your mind to. The weight will come off when you go back to work in July, and you will go back to work.
2. You are healing every day.
3. You have a caring and supportive hubby.
4. Your kids are old enough to help around the house. LOL, even though it's really punishment, you reap the benefits, and so do they even though they don't see it now. It's a win/win situation in my book! My 14 yr. old DD will be scrubbing woodwork next week all because she couldn't abide by the no phone calls after 10 at night rule.
5. You have all of your friends here at the village praying and pulling for you.
O.K., that's 5 positives, now you keep adding to the list. Remember we are all here for you anytime.
Prayers and get well wishes coming your way!

Awww Brenda. I'm so sorry... I just finished recovering from a shoulder injury, right after a knee injury...my weight went up about 14 lbs.
I know how frustrating it is...
I hope you heal up fast...and you get to keep your job...sounds like you really like it.

Congratulations on not smoking, thats quite an accomplishment. Hubby hasn't smoked since October. His doctor told him that most people gain the first two months and then it levels off. Hubby did gain at first, but he's starting to lose some of it now. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Glad you're back!!

Congrats on quitting smoking, that is huge. Speaking of your health , your mental health is important too. Please talk to your doc about your depression, he/she can help you get over this rough spot and help you deal. If you can please try and get out on your own or with friends to go for a walk. Sitting at home isolating yourself and not getting some fresh air can really make things seem worse than they are. Fresh air & sunshine do good things for you, body & soul. Take good care!!
