    Default I am freaking out.

I just got accepted to the apartments that I wanted. There are nice and wonderful. I have lived there before with a roommate who was more qualified in rental history then me. Their apartments are literally the nicest and most hoty toty in the whole area.

I got in because in the last three years {my total renting experience} I have never been late on a signal payment and because I lived there before and never caused problems.

They called me today to inform me that I will need to give them 750.00 as a security deposit and I will need a cosigner.

We had problems squeezing 300.00 out of the budget. That was what we thought was what we needed. Now I need 750.00???????

I have no idea how to get that much more money!!! I need to move from these apartments because they are very unsafe.

Anyone have any ideas or advice?

You could try talking to management. A few years back a place we wanted to rent, we were short on money, needed security deposit, first and last month and pet deposit, we paid everything except the pet deposit when we moved in, and for the first 4 months we paid extra for what was owed for pet deposit.

Is there anything you can sell for quick cash? You may be able to put things on Craig's List or in the local paper for a quick sell if you have things that could go towards the extra money you need. Do you have a PTO fund at work that you can use, at my employeer, we have a PTO account that we accrue hours towards time off, ie vacation, sick time, etc... and we can fill out a hardship form and sell back hours, relocation expenses are qualified as one of the approved hardships.

i will ask them about trying to span it over a few months.

Im selling my old truck, but no one is really interested. Maby you guys know a person who knows a person... or maby some advice on whats wrong with the ad.

    minneapolis.craigslist.org/car/353053367.html

I was thinking that maby we could get a direct deposit advance from my bank... idk... even with the fees... if its the only thing we can do i guess its a something.

Should i try to find another place to live?

I already gave them 50.00 to hold an apartment and 60 for ap. fees.

So then for a new place i would need to get another 80.00 to them.

On top of all of this i still need about 100.00 to fix the muffler of my car... i guess it wait...

There no emergecy fund at work. I work for myself.

I have a real aversion to debt, however, if you're in an unsafe neighborhood, this may be a good time to actually borrow money. Just set a plan for its payback. This, to me, is 'using credit wisely'

After this initial lump sum to get in, do you feel you can comfortably afford to make the rent payment each month, and still meet living expenses?

Good luck! I'm a homebody, so I understand how important it is to love where you live!
