Default I don't remember where I heard this.

I remember hearing once about a guy who would, every once in a while, deliberately throw some change on the ground. I guess it wasn't enough to make a difference in someone's life, but who knows? The idea was to leave something for a stranger.

I think that is a nice idea.

I would be interesting to do that in a place you often pass and see how long it takes for someone to see it and pick it up. I have an aquaintance who could probably fund her retirement on found change she's so good at it. I seldom notice at all. Either that or I have a real knack for being in the wrong place! Actually, when I do see it, rarely, I usually just pass it by with "that dime isn't mine." I guess that's silly, isn't it? Do others of you pick up found change?

^ I always pick up change if I see it lying on the ground. My way of thinking is that it's one more penny or dime or whatever then I started out the day with. All of our change goes to Wesley's savings account.

Interesting. Every penny I see goes into my green ceramic piggy bank.

There's a character that does that in the book Stargirl, by Jerry Spinelli. After she read Stargirl, I found DD#1 dropping change.

i know a guy in his 50's that a penny he cant leave it there, no matter what. So at the coffee shop(small towns) they decided to glue one down just to see if how long he would try and get it. Be danged if he didnt get it after 30 min and a knife. Mine whys he's OCD and i didnt think it was that funny, they did. I have 2 friends with either kids OCD, ADHD, tourettes, etc, so I know how they think and feel now after knowing them for 13 years.
    locals lol

Ill pick up change sometimes, my kids always do, but i tell them to go wash it after before putting it with the rest. All money is full of germs.

One of my great uncleslived right next door to us growing up. He continued walking everyday after retireing from being a postman. He found money all the time. He use to call it his "bonus" when he was working. He taught us to pick up change when we would walk with him. He wasthe only one in our family I ever remember talking to us "youngsters" about money and budgets.

If it is silver I will pick it up. If it is a penny I will just leave it on the ground.

One of my Dad's favorite things to do: Find a park, take along a roll of nickels. When no one is paying any attention, bury the nickels. Find a nice bench where you can sit quietly and watch the kids find the "treasure".
