Default How late Do You Let Your Kids Sleep During Summer Vacation?

Well, Mickie would till noon if I let her, LOL. I usually get her up around 7:30 every morning. She usually goes to bed around 10 every night, so 9 1/2 hours sleep is good. If we are out late for some reason, or not feeling well, I let her sleep longer. Poor thing had a stomach virus a few weeks ago, and was up all night and half the next day, so she pretty much lived in her bed for a day or two afterwards.

I usually make mine get up between 8 and 9...gives me more time to get some things done in the morning! On days that I am working, I call at 8 to wake them up..so they can have their chores done before I get home LOL.

I let my two DDs sleep however long they want. They both have jobs and some days they go in between 6 and 8 in the morning and some days they work in the afternoons. My DDs are 18 and 16, so I kind of just let them do their own schedules.

My older son is 15 - and we call this his summer. The last summer before he will have to have a summer job. He usually stays up until about 5:00 am and usually gets up about 4-5 pm. As long as he keeps the grass cut and his room clean (which by the way it is always spotless) I don't bother him.

I actually woke up earlier this morning about 4:55 am and walked into the kitchen and he was getting something to eat before he went to bed.

    They get up by 9am.
If they sleep longer, they wait until lunch time to eat 'breakfast'. That's usually motivation enough for them to get out of bed.

The 16 year old wakes up around 7:30 and the 12 year old wakes up around 8-9. When the oldest was still home, he stayed up all night and slept til noon. The other two are afraid they will miss something if they sleep too late. LOL!
