Thats a great read - not many pay 2nd thought to a few of those things mentioned. Thanks for posting the link!

Now I dont feel so bad about using Purelle/Wet Ones once I've done my grocery shopping and have loaded the car with groceries! And the broccoli thing? Im glad I use plastic bags vs some people I see just piling everything in there! ICK!

Last year I had a can of lysol that I kept in my diaper bag.......I think I'll start that up again!

I also was was.......well not really surprised, but saddened I guess! by the statement that, "research has shown that 60 percent to 70 percent of what ends up in our carts is unplanned."

I'm so glad that ALL of my shopping is deliberate now!!

Interesting. I'm really not too worried about the germy carts though. Most things we touch throughout the day are covered in bacteria, and for the most part we remain healthy. I would expect that after all these years on this planet our body could handle many things life throws at us

I bought the shopping cart cover pattern over a month ago and really didn't want to tackle that sewing project..but it's time! I just knew they were NASTY! As for the produce, I always always use the bags, I do get sucked into the 2 for $3 sales crud...and my girls NEVER use to ask for candy or treats until they started NOTICING the big displays of them...IRGGG!

Ok, the germ-thing is gross, but if it hasn't killed us all yet, it probably won't.
I think that as a society we're becoming a bit too "germaphobe".

At least the media is making people more aware of store's "tactics". I hope a lot of people read that...and become more aware!

    Good find! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing this. I also bag all of my vegetables in seperate bags. I bag my meats, even though they are prepackaged, in seperate bags as well. I'm thinking I'm probably immune to the germs on the carts by now, LOL, so I'm not gonna worry about it.
