Default Mad as He** at dh

I dont think I have been this angry at dh in the last seven yrs. ( 7yrs ago he really did something dumb but I wont get into it).
Saturday he decided to wash my car. My first and only brand new car that we have had less then a year. He washed it with a scrubbing Pad The entire front end is scratched beyond repair. Its horrible. Whats worse is just a few weeks ago we had the entire back end repainted becuase of someone in a walmart parking lot. We dont have money to fix. So I get to drive around like this for god knows how long. Its so bad that the headlights and the side view mirrors will have to be replaced.
What I can not understand is how on earth a person with an off the chart I.Q. can be so stupid. I cried for like two hours befor I would even comeback into the house. He said he didnt see it untill the car dried. Why on earth would anybody do such a thing...?

Sorry to hear about your car. There are some special polishing compounds that fill in and cover scratches. Talk to someone at the auto parts store or auto body or dealer.

Oh my. Oh what a big mess we can make when we try to do a good thing.
    Sorry.

What kind of scrubbing pad did he use?

I'm so sorry. I have to very sheepishly admit to trying a scrubby pad to get bugs off myself. Thankfully I checked it after a little spot.

WE tried and no luck, the scratches are too deep. HE used a scotchbright heavy duty.

    AnnK,

I don't know how helpful this will be but you never know......You might try calling the car dealer and ask them about clear coat.....I know that I had this put on my car when it was new as a protective coat, doesn't hurt to ask.....

Another idea is try going to a professional car wash place and ask them what they might have that could help.

I am so sorry for you.

Sorry to hear about that, maybe the scratches can be buffed out?

I'm so sorry about this.....please don't be mad at him anymore. He loves you and tried to do a good thing. My DS is like this...he is very intelligent but he doesn't have lots of common sense about things....he would do this very thing too. Chin up.....it will get better.

Wow, sorry to hear about your car. I would agree with the few suggestions mentioned, call the local car detailing places, dent repair/collision centres and see if they can help suggest anything.
