    Talking DH vacation ending

This is the last day of dh's vacation and I can hardly wait for him to go back to work! Isn't that horrible????

He gets in my way when he's home, "fixes" things around the house (so they're worse than they were before), and gets frustrated with the kids. I get so cranky when he's on vacation.

Yesterday, my youngest ds had summer school. When he was done we all went to pick him up and dh announced that we were going to go "hike a mountain". I was wearing flip flops and was somewhat dressed up. When I pointed this out, he got mad at me! I told him that had I known his plans, I would have dressed accordingly.

Today he put a screen door on our back door. He shaved the bottom too much so now there's a big gap between the bottom of the screen door and the threshold of the door. Bugs will easily be able to get in, leaving me to wonder: what's the point of the screen door??? He also stained the deck last week (it didn't need to be done) and it looks horrible.

We never get along very well when he's home. Again, I feel bad about this. He has his own agenda when he's here and honestly, it's easier with just me and the kids. Whenever he talks about retiring early, I ask him how he feels about divorce. LOL!!

Thanks for listening to me vent. I really am not the ungrateful shrew that I sound like right now!

I TOTALLY understand!! Dh has only had the last two days off in a row (the first time since he went back to work three months ago) and I'm going bonkers. I've already told him he'll need to find a hobby that keeps him out of the house often when he retires for good.

Yup! So far today dh has been in my way at least 5 times! Screwed up my whole morning! I love him, but, the whole routine gets upset!

I feel your pain! I work from home, and when DH is here it completely messes up my routine. Nothing gets done!

I completely understand. My DH's vacation starts next week. Yay for me. lol He works nights so he is always home during the day, but sleeps for about 6-8 hours in the middle of the day.

His vacation is going to be loads of fun because he is having oral surgery. He's going to be a fun patient, I am sure.

I understand as well, my DH has been home since 6/12 and while I love him being home I really can't wait for him to find a new job, yikes that sounds bad but he told me the other day he wants to take some time off and collect unemployment for a while then look for a job in a month or 2.... oh well, I guess I have to live with that.

Listen, can we talk, LOL? My hubby is on vacation this week too and like you, I feel really bad about it, but I can't wait till he goes back to work. He does mean well, but I can't for the life of me, get anything done around here with him home cause he wants me to "Hang Out" with him every second. I finally caught a break yesterday when I went into town to the store to buy a few things for our annual 4th BBQ. LOL, he wanted to go with me, but I talked him out of it. He decided to plant some sago palms that I started from cuttings a few years ago and planted one on the side of the house but didn't call the phone or electric company first to see if there where any lines underground there. Well, we realized this morning that we had no phone or internet service. The cable was working fine. After calling the phone company to report the outage on my cell phone, they sent out a service guy and sure enough, DH had cut the phone and internet lines and nicked the cable line. Because he didn't call first, we have to pay for the repair, and since it is a holiday, Lord only knows what they will charge us. Poor guy had to dig, cut and splice for almost an hour. We had at least 15 people here for a BBQ at the time, so when he finished, I sent on his way with a big plate of BBQ pork, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw & banana pudding, LOL.

DH means well, but I'm just not used to having someone underfoot all day. I feel your pain.

DH WENT BACK TO WORK TODAY!!!!! It was soooo nice saying good bye to him this morning and knowing that he was going to be gone all day, sitting behind a desk, making it all through his vacation safely without me inflicting physical harm on him. LOL!!!

Marsh Hen, are we married to the same guy?!?!?!? Poor guy tries so hard, but every "home improvement" he does winds up backfiring. He laughs everytime I walk through our screen door and shake my head.
