We had a black lab for 9 years. She died last July of cancer. She was a great dog. Crate training is a must. My dog did shed a lot! They need plenty of exercise and love to chew. Watch their weight, they could have hip problems later in life if they are overweight. She was hyper until the age of 5! Yes 5 . Once she turned 5 years old she mellowed out. Labs are great dogs.
