I have to decide today. Please help.
I have been offered a job at Ross. ITs only 7.25 an hour. But I get to pick my hours. I have told her I can not work nights or weekends. I have to start now for a two week training. I have two kids that my mil can watch for me for a few weeks after that I will have to put them in day care. FOr a couple of weeks I would have to pay for two of them but when school starts I will have to have to put the little one is daycare. So My paychecks will look like this, first three weeks no childcare 100% profit, next three weeks I will have 0% profit becuase of childcare then after that its 50% profit. Plus I will have to buy clothes becuase I have NOTHING to wear at all. Honestly we are in a spot were we need every penny I can get. Once my daughter gets into school I should be clearing about 100 dollars a week. IF it doesnt profit me that much I will have to stop working. Should I take the chance a go buy myself two or three outfits I can wear to work so I can give this a shot. Im just so scared this will end up costing me more then I will be make and things will be even worse.

I'd give it a go. You probably would have to buy a few outfits for ANY job in the public. Check out the thrift stores, and I've gotten some decent things at WalMart and K-Mart. Sounds like you've got the financial part figured out.

I say give it a try! I know this must be a hard decision though. Definitely check out thrift stores for clothes. You can find things a lot less, especially if they have sales going on (one here does 50% off the whole store every Sat. for instance). Big hugs to you for doing what you need to, to get on track again financially.
We're here for you!

I'd say try it if they're willing to work with you with your schedule! Also - why not ask on a Freecycle group for some clothes or eyeball some at yard sales?

I'd give it a try. I would definitly go to the goodwill or other thrift stores for clothing. You can find really nice professional clothing for a good price.

I have told her I will give it a try. Im going to go in tomarrow to fill out papers. She knows where I stand and that I cant promise I will stay long if it doesnt pay. I am not going to put my kids into daycare just to bring home 20 bucks a week. I am lucky enough to have a good place to take them. I know these people and trust them. I went threw my closet and found 8 shirts I can wear so Iam just going to get some black slacks and that will do until I know if its going to work. She is so willing to work with my schedule because she has been trying for months to find someone who not only has my skills but is dependable.

I'd also say "Go for it." I know it's a tough decision, but at least you can set your own hours and it's more money coming in when y'all need it. I'd also highly recommend going to the thrift store to buy clothes. I've seen lots of nice clothes at thrift stores. Good luck!

I say give it a try but I dont see the purpose of working for a few weeks if take home will be 0% if you have to pay child care, personally that makes no sense BUT if you want to do it, then go for it. I hate to sound like the meany of the bunch but working for nothing really doesnt seem appealing.
As for the clothes, the thrift shops would be a great first place to check.

Years ago I was in this position when I worked for a couple hundred dollars of bring home pay a month after daycare was paid. But, honestly I [I]needed[I] that little bit of money. If I remember correctly you guys have a house payment you are trying to catch up. If this job will truly help save your home then try it. However, if there is anything you could cut out like cable or cell phone I'd do that first so I could be with my kids. Working also creates other expenses, like gas, lunch, and clothes etc that you have to take into consideration. Good Luck!

Thats my hang up about it. Yes I will have to work for three weeks for nothing. That will be hard to do. But I have to to have this job. After that time I will be makeing money. I am trying not to focus on those three weeks but rather the big picuture. My origianial plan was to wait until school started then look for work but this job has falllen in my lap now and I have to act now or miss it and I am afraid it wont be so easy to find another job that will be flexable with my "demands" So , cna you see my problem?

I've been in that position before. Once, I didn't actually make any money for three weeks, but then I did o.k. Once I had to pay 2 babysitters full time because of strange hours, and it was awful!
I think you will be great at it, and they will reward you more financially because they have been looking so long.
