Default Well, we got an offer on our house but....

I have no idea for how much. When our real estate agent called dh my dh was busy at work and told him to call me. He hasn`t called me so I have no idea what the offer is. Our real estate agent doesn`t speak English very well and my french is very limited so that is that, I will have to wait (((sigh))).

I usually talk to our agent when my dds are with me as they are fluently bilingual, at least when dh is away.

But I want to know now lol!

    Thanks Everyone

Well, I went home and he called but dd 14 didn`t tell me until after she had hung up the phone lol. Anyhow he just told her to have her dad call him to set up an appointment to sign some papers, I am assuming the offer?

He also said that someone wants to view the house tomorrow too so he will call back to set up the appointment.

I am getting ready to call dh to see if he is still busy. He is in Detroit right now and won`t be back until probably tomorrow evening sometime. I do have power of attorney so I am thinking maybe our agent doesn`t feel comfortable talking to me? I don`t know but I am still going insane here folks lol!

It doesn't matter if he feels comfortable talking to you, he's WORKING for you! I'd call him and I wouldn't wait another minute. If he wants a paycheck, he should be trying to track you down. If the offer is good, you want to get those papers signed asap.... in the meantime, the buyers can change their minds & cancel the offer (by picking the papers up from him, of course).

I'm not sure what the market is like in your area... around here it's really slow and usually the 1st offer isn't so good, and often requires a counteroffer. And if it's a buyer's market, you can bet the buyers have plenty of other homes they are still checking out while your realtor is wasting time.

    Good luck...

Well I called my friend to translate our agents email which he sent to dh on his computer here at the office. Nothing about price but it does say that we have until Sunday to sign. I called dh, he is still busy and he said he doesn`t think he will be home on Sunday now.

I will call our agent when I get home from work, so we won`t be interrupted. I am also going to let him know that he has to let me know what is going on whether he tells me or finds someone in his office who speaks English to tell me.

mikandmari, you are right, he is working for me too not just dh. He will be making his commission from the sale of our house along with the sale of a house we buy as we did put a conditional offer on another house, providing we sell ours in time.

Ok, I just got off the phone with our real estate agent and I still don't know what the offer is. I said to him "can you not tell me over the phone what this family is offering?" He said well yes but I prefer to go over the papers with you tomorrow when I see you. So I thought ok, it must be a pretty low offer. We are asking $145,000 for our house. Anyhow, I told him that if their offer is below $140,000 that we would not accept it and to tell them to never mind" He said no,no,no, it's ok.

He has two more families coming tomorrow one at 11a.m and the other family at 11:30a.m so I am assuming that the visits are going to overlap. As the visits for here have lasted anywheres from 45 minutes to over an hour.

Our verandah needs repairing and we do need to touch up on some painting and a few little things and I told him that we have a contractor coming monday morning first thing to give us an estimate on repairing the verandah but my agent told me not to worry about it, he doesn't think that we will have to do anything.

I am just baffled, my mother said that she thinks that there is going to be a bidding war.....I have no clue, I just want the peace and/of mind of getting this over with lol.

Oh and I want to know what this offer is too!

That is crazy!! IMHO you need to find another agent who YOU can communicate with while your husband is away, and just in general be able to talk to!!
