A bird Julie? I've got you beat!
Julie (baxjul) had a bird in her house this past week...
Last night I was in the living room watching tv about 9PM & heard a noise out towards the kitchen, sounded like the snap of a mouse trap so looked under the sink & no mouse. Looked around & went back to watch tv then heard another noise. Couldn't find anything again so then I just stood in the doorway between between the kitchen & dining room so I could pin point where the noise was coming from. I didn't have to wait long, it was just beyond the kitchen...I flicked on the cellar lights & there it was...
a Woodchuck!
I quickly closed the door & tried to wake up hubby but he kept mumbling for me to take care of it, ya, right.
Well I finally got him up & won't bore you with the gruesome details but lets just say it's no longer in my house. I'm guessing it got in through a pipe in the cellar & am hoping it didn't bring any family members. Oh my!

OMG! ROFL! That is so funny! You should have got it and put it in bed with hubby! That would have woke him up! Glad you got him out! Yep, that is worse than a bird!

Darlene, I'm not sure exactly what a woodchuck is but does it smell better than the skunk that took residence under my car? We tried to get it to go "Home" all day which failed. It was not a pretty ending. It took a week for the air to clear.

They sure do smell! Another animal adventure was when we set the have- a-heart trap out to catch a pesky squirrel & dh caught a skunk instead. Didn't notice what he had (scratched up mud trying to dig out) until it was too late & man did he get skunked. He then proceeded to come in the house & put his smelly clothes in my machine. Next time he's gonna get naked and hosed down before he comes in my house after something like that! Man!
A woodchuck is also known as a groundhog. They can get nasty and have some sharp little claws on their paws. Still can't believe this happened.

Reminds me of the time my sister called in a panic, so dad and I went over and her and the three kids were hiding in the bathroom, a squirrel was in the house running amuk. So, we caught it, my dad gave it to me, and being the nice sister I am, I opened the bathroom door and let it in! You shoul have seen the commotion!!! ROFLMAO!!!!

OMG! Yikes I would have panicked. Glad you got rid of him!
We had a bird in our furnace once. It created so much noise I was sure it was a squirrel. We put a pillow case over the opening and banged on the furnace and it went into the pillowcase. Sheer adrenaline took over and I proceeded to frantically whack it against the floor, walls, dh, etc. till it got quiet. We took it outside and opened the pillowcase and stepped back, out popped a very dazed and confused blackbird. He never came for a visit again.

Do I dare ask what you did to the woodchuck? Doesn't sound like he was let go outside, so hoping it was swift and painless!

and the answer is...
A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood

No the answer is~ The woodchuck would not chuck any wood because he made the grave mistake of coming into Darlene's house without being invited and this chucker was chucked.
