Hello!
I was previously regisitered over at Homestead Garden, but I've never been registered here before. I'm not new to frugal boards, but I've taken a good year and a half -- almost 2 years -- break from posting at most places online. I couldn't remember my old password at Homestead Garden, so I reregistered there and am using the same name here. I used to be mamma24blessings. My husband and I have since been blessed with another child, a little boy, so I would have had to change my name anyway.
My family lives on our homestead in central Nebraska where we have a few beef cattle, 2 milk cows that raise foster calves for us, a Jersey family milk cow, a donkey, 2 dogs, numerous cats, way too many chickens, and several ducks. I usually have a big garden and put up several hundred quarts of food, but this year our garden was flooded out twice, and I gave up on it. I'm now working on preparing the ground for a fall garden. Hopefully, I'll have better luck with the weather this go-round!
We homeschool our kids, and that keeps life interesting as we're always learning new things. I'm active in our church and community as time allows. I love to quilt, knit, crochet, sew (although most of my sewing has been mending for quite some time now!), bake, make cheese and pretty much do anything in the kitchen.
I've not been nearly as frugal lately as I've been in the past, and I really need to get back to extreme, joyful frugality (sort of like extreme sports but -- to me -- much more satisfying
). Our family has some financial goals to achieve over the next year, and it's going to take a major effort to make it happen.

Odilia, Welcome form a fellow Nebraskan! Go Big Red!

I grew up on a 200 acre farm just south of Blair (North of Omaha). Glad to have you join us. We just moved to Colorado and like you, need to get back to "extreme, joyful frugality" to achieve some financial goals to over the next several years.
