Default To Wash...or not to wash...but everyday???

OK....DH is driving me totally bonkers about this. My kids go swimming everyday, sometimes 2-3 times a day. He thinks we need to wash towels and swimsuits every time they take them off, so they will have a "fresh" swim suit and towel for the next time they need one......huh?????

What is wrong with hanging the towel and suit outside to dry? And when they decide to swim again, use the same towel. Makes perfect sense to me...he doesn't seem to get that concept. I refuse, absolutely refuse to wash them every single time they get out of the pool.

My question is.....do you wash towels and suits every time? Or do you wait until after a couple of days swimming.

I can't wait to show him the responses from you ladies (well I do hope they are in my favor)

Sorry, we do wash after each use. But I am sure my way of doing things does not agree with the majority here.

We have an inground pool and my kids swim multiple times everyday. Dh does all of the laundry and yes, he washes all towels, wash cloths, and clothing after one use. Swimsuits get washed nightly. I will let them wear them multiple times in one day, but after their last swim of the day they go in the dirty clothes hamper. Once something gets worn or used it gets washed. Dh washes/dries a few "super sized" loads everyday.

NO they do not get washed in this house after every use. I have a clothes line and we put them on the line to dry. I will wash them every couple of days.

If he wants them washed everyday make that his contibution to the household for the day.

No, we don't wash them everytime. I generally rinse my bathing suit in the sink to get the chlorine off, but then just hang it to dry and re-wear it.

We just have a wading pool. But the kids are in it nearly every day. When they get out, they hang out their towels & suits outside on the clothesline. I wash them about 1-2x per week.

When I was younger, would rinse swimsuits out in sink & hang to dry & could hang our towel up to dry if not dirty, and get another use out of it.

I dont wash them after each use either, we can go through alot of uses, if he is picky you can rinse them out (bathing suits) after each use, but as for towels, what's the point, they are going to get them wet over and over again so just hang them outside to dry, that's what we do

I wash the towels after every use, we do not reuse. I tried a few times, but it creeps me out. I don't care how clean my bum or my feet are after bathing, I'm washing those towels. I wash the swimsuits every time. I don't want to put a used suit back on.It feels gross to me.

We rinse and hang to dry. I let the towels hang to dry too, unless I know they wont be used for a few days, then thy get washed and put away, otherwise it is 1-2x/wk.

We have a pool too, and no I do not wash them every day, I hang them on the line or the deck to dry. Now if they are in our local lake, then yes, I do wash them, especially before they get into the pool because lake water can cause algae in a pool.

Swim suits we rince out and hang to dry, if we went to the beach or lake swimming I will wash on the gently cycle then hang to dry. I try not to over wash the swimsuits because I read somewhere that washing them too much wears the fabric out faster. As for towels they usually get washed after each use.

Nope, don't wash after each use. We rinse the chlorine out of the suits, hang to dry. I let the towels hang out in the screen room to dry. I machine wash them about 3x a week.
