What's brown, hangs upside down...
and is on my livingroom curtain?!
What the heck is going on around here? A woodchuck in the house the other day & today a bat.
I'm thinking on how to best get this guy out of here in one piece before I bother him. I was in the kitchen looking towards the living room after Jack left for work and as soon as I saw the size and color of something that shouldn't be on my curtain (curtain is white & my furry friend just couldn't be missed) I knew what it was. Cute litte thing hanging by one foot, aww. I don't mind bats but they too belong outside & not in my house.
Wonder what animal will decide to visit next, I'll keep you posted, lol. Maybe we should start taking bets, won't be an elephant, moose or pelican....could be a....~*Darlene*~

PS: You should take a pic of your new furry friend and post it

Sorry, no pics Shorty. Just picture a white curtain & a brown blob with one foot hanging on to it.
Furry friend is now outside. I went out to the shed & got a tennis racquet and brushed him into a cooler, put the racquet atop so it couldn't fly out and put it outside. Glad it went peaceably.

Lol.
Hi Folks, come on in! Tour the bat garret & bring your own wood and our little woodchuck friend will carve your likeness for a nominal fee!!
I'm gonna be rich! Between this zoo and all the thousands of dollars I am making with UK lottery winnings/inheritance from strangers I get in my e-mail everyday I'm going to be living on E-Z Street!

Glad that you handled this situation more peaceably than that first one. Oh my, woodchucks are still crying all around the world.......
The upside is when you are accused of having bats in your belfrey (sp?) from now on you can just smile, right Dar?

We grab a waste basket and newspaper or piece of cardboard to remove perched bats, for the flying ones we have a "bat" mitten racket that we keep handy! At least once a year we get a call from my mom to remove one from her house too, she live in an area in town with lots of very mature trees and a huge park across the road, they're REALLY common there.
I actually like bats and enjoy them in THEIR environment, we encourage them to roost in our barns, along with barn swallows, they really help with the mosquito population!
As for outdoor ground hogs, we have a dog that is the BEST "hawg hunter" in the county! Ol Cooterdog dispatches them quite quickly and efficiently!

When I was younger I went to use the phone I looked out the kitchen window & a bat was hanging upside down looking back at me I'm glad my mom wasn't the one who seen it because she would of freaked.
I had a cat growing up that used to bring mice in the house & "hide" them in the washer
all the sudden we would hear my mom scream "samantha you baaaaad kitty"
I once had a Squirrel run in my front door jump on my couch look out the window jump off the couch & run right back outside.
I also have had a couple of small birds fly inside the house & back outside.

"The Do Drop In" LOL. My Mom had a bat on her door wreath inside the house, cute, yucko, I think they look nasty!!! You're a better woman than me, I don't know if I could have rationalized the racquet and cooler for removal, I would have just stood there .........Screaming Like an idiot!hahaha
