Man, o man, did I ever STEP IN IT!!!
Remember last years posts, about our school athletic dept having a gun raffle sale as a fundraiser, and I was totally outnumbered about the whole idea of it being extremely STUPID to raffle a gun for a school function and especially with the student athletes selling them, well a year later, I decided to get involved a bit more, last week I was voted President of the AthleticBoosters for our local high school. It is a lot of work, but I feel I needed to step up in order for these types of things not to occur. Remeber the alcohol on school property before the games etc.??? Gezzie peezie, I am getting ticked off again just typing that in this post!! LOL Anyway, it is a big undertaking, on top of trying to get that job, and gosh I just must nutso when I now think about it!!

People like you stepping in is what is needed. Its a lot easier to stand by and complain, not many people pick up the problem and run with it to bring a decent solution to the table. Good for you! I'm sure it willl be a lot of work, but the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a real difference is going to make it so worthwhile. I'm sure you will do a wonderful job!

In our little community the Booster Club really keeps the athletic program going. I'm sure in all areas with the school funding issues this is true. A huge pat on the back for taking this on!! You will be a real asset for the kids, school and community.
