need help with grinding wheat
I am going to start grinding my own flours soon and have a question...are you supposed to wash/rinse the wheat first, let it dry and then grind it into flour or do you take the wheat berries and grind them up just as they are from the store? I buy the wheat from a health food store in the bulk section if that makes a difference. Thank you for any help

You grind it without washing it first. The grain marked for human consumption should be cleaned before you buy it (it's cleaned by blowing away things not supposed to be there and by sifting out stuff that doesn't belong).
Foods made with fresh ground flours are fabulous -- enjoy!
