Can I have just one normal morning?
It's been a week around here, every morning it's something else. One morning I came home from work and went to take the dogs out, wanting to let hubby sleep in (it was Sunday) get out the door with 3 dogs (bloodhound loose, two little terriers on leashes). I hear squalling and screaming, if you've never heard a horse fight it will make the hair on your neck stand up! Of course I'm right under the bedroom window and start SCREAMING at the top of my lungs for Jenn Jenn and Belle to QUIT!! During this the bloodhound gets nosey, finds the mama turkey and baby and tries to get nosey, so now I have a dog/bird fight and the birds winning! Poor hubby stuck his head out the window to see if we were still alive.
Another morning its super foggy and I'm hearing what sounds like a human doing a frankenstien imitation, hollered at hubby "what the #ELL IS THAT?" only to be told it's our neighbor Eleanor, she's 87 and does NOT like geese in her yard so that's how she chases them out, yikes! I'd fly away too, darn near did and I don't have wings!!!
So this morning take the dogs out again, it got cold so I was NOT a study in fashion (bare footed, lavender PJ pants, red/black checked mens flannel shirt and a safety yellow sweat shirt and WILD WOMAN hair) So of course Cleotis (bloodhound) finds mama turkey and baby again, mama turkey attacks the dog, the LITTLE dogs get ahold of mama turk, feathers everywhere, me hollering and right then the little dogs wrapped me in the leashes and knocked me to the ground. Could it get worse? OF COURSE, the neighbors on his way to get the papers and stops to see if I'm ok, oh geez!!! All survived but I'm MORE than a little embarassed.
So, anyone wanna come join our "peaceful" life on the farm?

I am reading about your morning and cracking up at the same time!! You need to write some stories about these moments of yours and send them into Reader's Digest and get paid for it. Noone can make this kind of stuff up!! You made me smile!! Thanks, and hope your day gets bettter!! LOL!!! Oh yeah, ever heard of Shade, Ohio that is where I was to get the pup!! It was definitely in the country!! 4th generation farmers living off of the land!!! They go onto town about once a month, and could understand why!! The pup's name is Polly because her Mom's name is Holly.

LOL! I can SO relate to this. Our neighbors seem to only stop by when I'm running around in pajamas or have just stepped out of the shower. As to the animal mayhem...there doesn't seem to be a "normal" when there are animals involved.
