Our frugal ways are not so funny afterall!

See? Us filling our bottles with tap water isn't funny at all...in fact it's what the bottled water manufacturers have been doing!!

LOL! Am I the only one that didn't believe Aquafina was spring water? I automatically assume that any "purified" water is just tap water with extra filtering.

I wondered why it was so cheap next to others. Our tap water is so awful, they'd have to pay people to drink it!
I drink distilled water. That way I know what I'm getting. I've thought of buying a distiller and making my own. I had a water filter on my kitchen faucet for awhile, but it broke, and they don't make them anymore. I was stuck with three filters for it.

I've always laughed ever since I read the article about the french laughing at us selling us evian water, which is niave spelled backwards!
But then again I'm from Ohio where the coals soft, the waters hard and both of them stink! But, we believe stinky hard water makes ya strong!

Yesterday I filled up so many water bottles I felt like my kitchen was a water manufacturing plant!

Hahahaha - thanks for the link. Bf and I were talking about this last night...all he drinks is bottled water and I gently reminded him of the excess waste that he's putting into the landfill/recycling etc when its just tap water thats filtered - hence me using a BRITA at home just for when he comes over. He sill doesnt use it - ugh NOR does he believe me. I just emailed this link to him as proof!
I learned this difference ages ago when we go on vacation - we'd buy cases to go in the car from whatever grocery store of whatever state we were in...the taste alone tells all but reading the label helped!
@ the naive comment - so true. The only times I've ever purchased Evian was when I was in the airport in China - all they sold were local labels and Im sorry they bottles didnt look sealed and the water wasnt um 'clear water coloured'
so I ended up paying $5 CDN for a 1 L bottle of Naive water. Sad but true. But then again that could be why Im still alive today?
LOL too funny!

I found that I prefer the taste of purified water to spring water, so when I use bottled water, I try to drink Aquafina anyway. Besides, I'd rather use filtered water than worry about whether or not a spring source is actually pure.I learned this difference ages ago when we go on vacation - we'd buy cases to go in the car from whatever grocery store of whatever state we were in...the taste alone tells all but reading the label helped!

I don't mind tap water in a lot of places, but have been to some places where it is just plain nasty - San Diego in the 1970's comes to mind - which is where I learned that droping in a pince of powdered vitamin C would make all the floating stuff sink to the bottom and make the top-water drinkable - course I had to explain to my dinner partners that "that crap in the bottom of your glass?" as they asked me about it was the stuff they'd just consumed because theirs had not sunk!

That's funny! I'm surprised they have the nerve to put on the bottle it's just tap water! I wonder if people will keep buying it?

Bottled water is a wonderful money maker. Wish I had thought of it, but never would have considered that people would be so....ahem...."naive".
