Default May I have cheese with my whine?

Well, I WAS gonna stay home today and get things done, but my best friend is going on vacation, and because of how it was timed (set up by his department), he has very little money until next week, so I have to go loan him $30 so he can get his medication before he goes. He's doing some plumbing work for me, so I don't mind giving it to him, but it involves getting dressed and going all the way there, having lunch with him, and coming back, which will take a good 4 hours out of my day.

Every time I get time off, RL inteferes. Well, what was it John Lennon said "Life is what happens when you're making other plans".

One day I actually WILL be able to get done what I want to get done, all in one day! Then I'm gonna celebrate!

ahhh.. i hate when that happens. its like you finally take a day off for yourself and you can already picture it. louging around in your bathroom. reading your paper. attacking that closet thats over filling and then the phone rings and you start to think.. i should have just gone to work. - why dont you skip lunch with him. drop the money off and head back home? tell him that youve got a project started and that youre midway, but that you did want to at least bring him the cash.

Well, we had lunch. Didn't take that long, since he only gets 45 minutes. I had to go to the Dollar Tree up there anyway, so did that. I was good. Didn't buy anything I didn't need, and still spent $24!

Then I went to Dollar General, but they don't carry the Nicel face cream anymore, so I'm gonna have to find another cheap one somewhere. Nothing at Dollar Tree either.

So I was going to Goodwill, but they've moved to a location where I hardly ever go, so I went to Salvation Army. Got something you'd have to see to understand. It's a sifter, actually for sifting through shells at the beach, homemade box with a hardware cloth bottom. I'm gonna use it to get the rocks out of my palm bed. Someone put landscape rocks in there, and they've just dug themselves into the ground, so I have to dig up a large area and sift the dirt out of it to put back into the hole. It's also good for sifting compost. It was $4.49, but worth not having to make it myself.

Then I stopped by KMart, and got the buy of the day...two Martha Stewart sheets, top and bottom fitted, in the EXACT color pinstripe I want to paint my room, for $4.90, on clearance marked down from $11.99 each. Got three 10 packs of Schaeffer ball point pens for $1.

Went by Lowe's and got a plant I've been wanting for 50% off. It's sort of scraggly, but I'll make it look better.

So all in all, not a bad day. I'm glad I had lunch with my friend. I'll miss him while he's gone. We said that next year, we're gonna go on vacation together. Hope it works out that way.

So a pretty good day so far, and now I'm going to go clean out my car.

Naw, I bought him lunch. Subway. Less than $10 for both of us. He IS fixing my plumbing, which is no small chore, so I figured I'd just pay him in advance.
