Dang... Whatever happened to Customer Service?!
I'm so steamed. We are having to buy a new fridge. Ours is going down fast and it is either poison my kids with spoiled food, or get a new fridge. Normally I would search the want ads, but hubby wants to buy a new one to avoid someone else's problem.
We have a very set budget of 400.00. We know that we will be getting just a basic fridge and freezer. No ice maker or bells or whistles. We just need something to cool and freeze food. Nothing fancy.
I went to Lowe's and walked into the appliance dept. There was a young man standing there. I smiled and said I would like to look at some refridgerators. He did not smile back, and just motions over his shoulder as if to say "duh, they are right there". I let it go and went to look. I approached him again to ask if they had a scratch and dent section. He said rudely "aisle 33". I asked him about scratch and dent to see if any of them had warranties or anything like that..
He was so incredibly rude to me. I had to literally pull from his mouth every answer. He never offered to help me, find what I needed, nothing!
I am very tempted to report him. Needless to say, I did not buy a fridge from him, and it will be a long time before I can say I will buy anything from Lowe's . Gee Whiz.
Whew, sorry for the rant, just had to get it off of my chest.
Thanks,
Whitney

Call Lowe's and tell them what happened. They will probably give you a discount on a new frig...SERIOUSLY! I used to work there, so I know.

I have had problems with Lowe's in the past. Even the manager who called my husband back to discuss the issues we had was not the most polite person. As far as satisfying us, they never did anything. As a result, I shop only at Home Depot now.

We had the same issue Lowes when I bought our new dryer. It took them 15 mins to get someone to help me. Then we had to wait for over a hour for them to find it and get it to the front of the store. I did report them to the home office. All we got from them was we are sorry. I have NOT been back to the store. Lately, I am finding the same thing all over.

Bummer, I'd call and complain, maybe they will do something to earn your business back. Can't hurt to try.

I cant believe that. I love the guy at my lowes. We were looking at stoves and the man was so helpful. He told us more infor then we even knew to ask. In the end we bought from him and he even gave us a discount we didnt even ask for. I was very happy and as a result will buy all my appliances from him. You diffenatly should call .

Call 'em! I work in customer service too. I have (I know, shocking) ticked people off now and again. They have complained, sometimes with reason, sometimes not really. But each and every time, I learned something about how to serve customers better. Although I hate to screw up, anytime I do, if I hear about it it compels me to do better in the future.
Also, I agree with the posters that suggested asking for a discount. The worst they can do is say no. If they don't want to take actual money off perhaps you could get free delivery and disposal of your old unit. Good luck!

I don't know what has happened to CS these days..it seems that no matter where you go people are always that way. The workers seem put out that they have to help anyone. It drives me insane.

I would call and complain so fast that young man's head would be spinnin'Donna F.
