ewww...COOTIES!
We've got cooties!
Last night my daughter had a sleepover here with her best friend. She woke me up twice cause her head was so itchy. I checked her twice for headlice and did not see a thing, except her poor little scalp where she had scratched so hard she drew blood!
I made an appointment with the pediatrician, after my neighbor also checked her head and did not find anything either!
He finally found a little thing in her hair and it fell right off, which is why neither of us thought it was a nit. But he put it under his microscope and it WAS! WE GOT COOTIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At this point Rachel and I are bug free, but you can imagine the day I had. I had to call all recent visitors and break the news (fun times!) and then I have been bleaching and scrubbing and spraying and washing all dadgum day! Not to mention, picking cooties after the lice shampoo!

Oh my gosh and they have such lovely hair too!!!
Patience will get you through this.
Sadly I think having lice is a right of passage for a child - just like chicken pox
its unpleasant but its just something you have to go through. If you're lucky enough to dodge it - hallelujah!

I feel for ya. My DD had them a few times over the years. No fun, but you can rest assured they do go away. It just takes a little time and patience.
Best wishes!

Oh my, I'm sorry! I'm sure you got a quick jump on them and you'll be rid of them before you know it.
Now here on the farm we deal with em (on the critters!) with sevin dust, ivermetctin and guinea hens (they LOVE all bugs, lice, fleas, ticks) But I don't think you're neighbors would be to thrilled with farm fowl meandering around, lol.
