Who else is excited for school to start?
I can hardly wait! I'm volunteering in my dd's class this year (I always worked full time before). I'm so excited getting all of her stuff ready and getting all organized! Does anyone else do this?

I get excited about the shopping for new school clothes & supplies, but I'm really going to miss having them home. I will miss the "lazy" mornings too.

Me too! My daughter starts kindergarten tomorrow.
I've been all excited getting things ready, but now that it's tomorrow, I'm feeling almost sick.
My daughter is a little social butterfly so I'm not worried about her. I'm just hoping the other mommies like me and I make some new friends too.
At the parent/teacher thing last week they asked how many people were putting their oldest into kindergarten this year, and it was most of the class. So I'm sure all those other parents are feeling the same way.
NancyI may not be where I need to be, but thank God I'm not where I used to be.

I am so NOT excited. I like having the kids home with me. I love the time we spend together. Since I have been homeschooling them the past few years I have really gotten use to them being with me all of the time.
Well, DD is going to a small private school starting tomorrow. I am so sad. Her new school still concidered a homeschool, but it is not the same to me. She won't be here with me. She really wanted to go to this place since her friends are there. Being that she is 14 we gave her the final decision about this. Ultimately she will be happier so I will just have to deal with it.
Heck, I still have DS at home so I am not totally alone. Since he is 12 and growing up fast I need to enjoy this time with him. He may want to follow his sister in a year or so.DD (19)

Well I guess I am odd man out. I am SOOOO ready for mine to go back to school. They are 9 & 10 and they are driving each other crazy and therefor they are driving ME crazy!!! We still have two weeks to go too!!! It doesn't help that it is 100 degrees outside so playout outside is really out of the question!!!!!!

I was ready about a week after it ended! Mine started a week and a half ago. I love it!! I missed my days to myself at home with no one screaming and fighting. Those kids were excited to go back too. They had enough of each other.

Hehehehe - Im excited too. I think I may try to do an online course again and be ahead of the game this season....I'll start researching this week and decide at the end of August. I need to focus on it very hard as I learned earlier this summer
What a waste of money that was. Ugh!

I could care less as I took DSon's books back to the school and never have to set foot in the place again.
I think his girlfriend is bored and ready to go back though. To be One With The Universe In Spirit, Mind and Body

I am so ready! My boys are driving each other crazy - and b/c I won't let them play nonstop video games (the only thing that keeps them quiet) they are driving me bonkers!!! I still won't let them be glued to the tube, though. We have a bit more headache with school starting -b/c we are moving over the next few weeks,7 hours away. School starts in KS on tues (where we are moving TO), and next tues here (IA, where we are moving FROM). We are going to be there next week, so the kids will miss the first week - we are doing math pages and reading to get them in the groove......

Not me. I like spending time at home with the boys. I love being able to have a different routine once in a while....being lazy and playing games. When school starts back, I also go back to work since I work at the school. No more sleep ins!
