How old were you when you got your first apartment?
This week it has been 5 years since I moved to my first apartment - and also moved to a different city. I was 19 at the time.

Dh and I bought our first house when we were 19. I went from living with my parents to living with DH. I never lived on campus while attending college. Never had the desire to live alone or with roommates.

An elderly 27. I lived at home two years and in the dorm for two years for undergraduate, and when I went to NY and then Toronto for graduate school (another 5 years) I lived in school sponsored housing -- not exactly apartment -- they were suites shared with several others in large apartment type buildings, but no supervision as in a dorm. When I returned to Texas for another 5 years of school (I was in school practically forever) I moved into an apartment. And how I loved finally, finally, being alone!

The day I turned 18. I lived by myself and worked three jobs. I moved in with my now husband 3-1/2 years later.
