prices going up!!!!!!!! Is it me?????????
I have noticed on other posts that others have noticed that prices are going up. I have seen it first hand. I know food had gone up I notice that every time I go grocery shopping. But also recently in the clothing store where I work. Clothing is increasing slowly. The staple items that everyone needs, basics like t-shirt, jeans, socks, underwear. At the begining of the summer we had to reprice items 50cents to 1.00 more, now at work the new list of incoming fall merchandise is out, and there are more price changes for the same basic clothing items at the same 50 cents/1.00 increase. I know that small amount is done so customers dont really notice the increase. Customers are begining to notice. Not just the store where I work, but at other stores, like walmart and target and other discount stores. Sale prices have also gone up as well. I dont do as well shopping the sales as I used to. I know retailers main blame is the increasing fuel costs. But I have seen some jumps in prices. Is it me????????????????????????????????

I can tell you prices on equipment in the heating and air industry has increased substantially as well. I know that the rise in gas price over the last year is still showing its effect this way. The people making the parts/equipment have to pay more to ship them to the supply houses. The supply houses have to pay the manufactuers more and more on gas to disperse them to the local companies. The local companies have to pay more in fuel costs to get it to to the customer and more, the already double more that the supply company charges them. Guess who ultimately pays for all three companies "more".............. the average customer, who is sometimes the little old man whose living on socia; security.....Males me mad!!!

I know that are delivery charge went up in price from $1 to $1.35. Some people notice some people don't. In part because of the rising fuel cost but also cheese. A 15 pd box of cheese at work is now $25 and we can blow through 4 to 5 boxes on a friday night.

I have noticed grocery prices have gone up where I live. They are making the packages smaller but still raising the prices Eg: Not too long ago a 600g block of cheese was $6.99 but now the same cheese is 520g for $7.99

Yes everything is going up except for paychecks, sigh. And yes packaging is getting smaller and more decieving.
Honestly, fuel costs and corn costs. Look how much of our food has corn in it in one way or another. And corn prices have jumped big time with the new ethanol craze, farmers are signing on for a set price for their corn to the ethanol plants and planting a LOT more corn which also concerns me as to what's going to happen to our oat, wheat, soybean and hay prices in the near future. Last hubby was commenting on it corn had risen by 95cents a bushel.

I saw a story on my local news last night that milk prices were going up due to milk shortages in Australia and Europe. I didn't even realize that the US depended on other countries for milk that much (or maybe I'm just confused lol)

I think its a reaction to increased costs to businesses from fuel costs earlier in the year - the wierd thing is that gas has come down recently! Anyway, yes I've seen it too. Even Goodwill has raised their prices!
