just an update

Well I got the stitches out of my knee yesterday. The Dr. said to take it easy and not have any knee stress by bending it too much for at least two weeks. So I came home, put my leg up and did nothing. I was finally able to to take a bath instead of a shower so I went in and figured I'd see what my knee looked like. Gee guess what.....I have a large gaping gash. The cut opened up where the stitches were. It isn't bleeding or anything but then it never did even when I first did it. Now I don't know what to do. There's no way to hold it shut since it's right under the knee cap.Then I got the stomach flu along with it. On top of that our car died and we have been waiting since Monday to get it towed to the house. For some reason the guy hasn't brought it out even though I have called every day and he assues me he will bring it. Is it Friday yet????

Big 's!!!! Have you called the doctor and asked if it's still suppose to look like that???? If he told me yes I'd probably asked if it was ok too butterfly it while it finishes healing. Hope things start looking up soon.

You would think that he would have put some steri strip tapes on it! Take care of yourself! Hope you feel better soon!

if its too open it wont heal right. if its just a little cut then the air will help it along. Id ask the Dr. , like rooted Nomad said. Better safe then sorry. Take care of yourself. hhuuggsss

It wasn't a small cut. t went to the bone and nothing will hold since it's under my knee cap. There were thirty stitches inside and out. Have to wait and see what the Dr. has to say

why is it that tow truck drivers always have other cars to attend to or things that need to get done before our jobs. i was in an accident once and youd think id would have had tow trucks wanting to get my car out of the middle of the street because its ready money. it took hours to get someone to show up and then when he did, he locked my keys in the car and said that it wasnt his fault because i should carry an extra in my purse.

i hope youre able to get to the doctor quit about your gash.

Like Julie said, it seems like they would use steri-strips. I work for orthopedic doctors and they use them all the time.

Well here's what Ifoundout. My leg is going to look like this with the big gap because part of my knee/shin is missing. Apparently when I fell it damaged the spot so bad that it won't come back (That sounds funny but that's how it came out). so I guess I will have a slit under my knee cap. Hey maybe I can stash all the money I win in those email lotteries in there!!

Now that sounds strange. Is the slit an open wound or does it have skin over it? I would think that if it were an open wound, the doc would want a dressing over at least until it healed. Sending you big hugs and hoping you get your car back soon.

I guess this qualified as a wouond since it was wide open. The strips won't hold since its between the kneecap and the shin. It looks better today and seems to be healongover. Finally got my car home. We thought it was the tranny since it wouldn't slip...this was on Monday. As I said we were waiting for the tow truck and he never did show up. \We got in the car and gee it ran fine.Go figure. Told hubby it was his fault cause he said he wanted toget rid of the car. She's tempemental. The last time he mentioned getting rid of it the wheel bearing went. He apologized to the car lol. On the upside I'm on number 64 of my pints of beans and 24 jars of tomato soup. I sit and have everyone else do the lifting. Next comes the sauce.
