    Default DH having surgery in October

    He hurt his back on the job about 3-4 years ago, and is tired of being in pain so he finally decided to talk to the surgeon. He's having a laminectomy on October 19. That's where they remove a small portion of bone from the vertebra to relieve pressure on the spinal cord.

    This is covered by Workman's Comp so everything will be paid for, plus he'll get paid for his time off of work. He just called me to tell me that he called WC and the amount he'll be getting paid for his time off work is about $300/month more than we guesstimated. We're happy about that, that means we won't have to dip into the EF hardly at all, if any!

    I'm proud of him, he's been making the necessary phone calls to take care of all the business he needs to attend to before he has surgery, while at work driving truck!

    Looks like he'll be off work anywhere from 2-6 months, depending how things go. Things are looking up, I was concerned about money but that seems to have worked itself out. Yay!
    “When you get to the end of all the light you know
    and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
    faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
    you will be given something solid to stand on,
    or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller

    “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
    there are signs that the world is speedily
    coming to an end;
    bribery and corruption are common; children no
    longer obey their parents;
    every man wants to write a book and the
    end of the world is evidently approaching.”

    an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.

    God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
    courage to change the things I can,
    and the wisdom to know the difference

    WOW what a great hubby to handle this himself (either that or it's BAD BAD BAD! LOL) I know mine would gut it through the pain and then want me to handle all the details.

    Glad that it looks like it's going to work out well, now stock up on good movies, books and games for him to play during recovery!

    I know it is a relief to start getting things worked out and in order.

    Good luck to DH and you (of course).

    I am glad your DH will have his surgery and also glad to hear WC is more than you expected. See things do start looking up most often times than not.
