Just wanted to introduce myself after several months of lurking. My name is Beth. I am recently married (6 mos.) to my husband Nick. We live in GA and are trying to get our debt in order. As you can see from my signature we both brought a lot of debt to the table, but we have been able to pay over $13K against credit cards in just 6 months, so we are very proud of that. At the same time, I'm a little ashamed though, because we started out on a budget (did great for 2 months) and then totally abandoned it under the reasoning of "it's our wedding/honeymoon, we deserve it." I.e. new clothes, new luggage, new furniture, let's paint the living room, etc. The fact that we were able to still pay $13K of credit card debt during that time amazes me, so I'm using that as forward momentum as we try to knock out our debt completely! I'm also excited about learning to apply some of the frugal behaviors I have learned about from reading these forums as a way to trim down our expenditures even further. So thank you!! You should all be proud of yourselves for what you have accomplished and know that you are an inspiration to us all.
