    Default I can't believe I did this!

Well, I was totally convinced today that I got off at 6 p.m., so I clocked out at 6:01, and said "darn, I have a minute of overtime". Got home, was checking the schedule for tomorrow, and realized I left an hour early...I got off at 7!

So I called my manager, and she cracked up laughing. I asked her if she wanted me to come back, but she said no, she'd see me tomorrow.

I've never done anything like that! I'm losing it, I tell you.

Too much on my mind, my mom, money, other stuff too. I need a cup of tea...and a good night's sleep. I didn't sleep over 4 hours last night. I was suddenly very thirsty last night, and the only thing I had in the house to drink was caffeinated drinks, so I was up late.

You must have alot on your mind. I know what you are going thru, have had a similar week, sleep & stresswise. At least your boss had a sense of humor about it! Get a good nights rest and hopefully things will look up!

That's so funny! Sounds like something I might've done. I remember I once showed up at the wrong patient's house (I HAD been seeing them pretty regularly) and another nurse from our company was there. Boy, did I get some strange looks from both of them as I tried to explain my momentary loss of sanity. Glad your boss has a good sense of humor. I hope you enjoyed your extra hour off. (Just think, more time to be on Frugal Village. )

It's great that your boss got that it was funny, rather than get mad. She must be good to work for.

My dh and I are in our 50's and we cannot believe some of the things we do these days. Or don't do. It's like, 'where have our minds gone?'

dh is a non sleeper, too--all the time. And I have 'streaks' of sleeplessness for no apparent reason. It makes life joyless, doesn't it?

Hope you rest tonight and wake up FRESH!

Too funny!!! I'm glad I'm not the only person who does stuff like this.

The great actress Bette Davis said, "Old age is not for sissies!"

Ain't it great we can laugh about this?!?!?!?

lol, with me i looked at the schedule wrong and came in 2 hrs early and it was also the time when (i think it was) the district manager came to inspect the store. i was a little embarassed b/c i had to lug my big cd player back here. im just glad he didnt inspect during one of the shifts i worked b/c even though i was there for only a few months when he inspected and knew what to clean with preclose and closing i still forgot stuff. that was when i was working at mc donalds.

It's not just age. I supervise college students, who sometimes end up with pretty erratic schedules. I've had students, who have proven themselves over time to be as reliable as the sunrise, completely forget they were supposed to be at work at all. They are so embarrassed when they get the call - "uh, did you know you were on the schedule today?" We laugh about it too -- at least when it's that kind of student - for others, er, less reliable ones, it can be a firing offense.

You are indeed lucky with your boss, and have clearly proven that you are good employee. I hope the stress lifts a little for you. That's a crushing way to live.
