Some of you may know the things we've been through the past two months. (My car getting wrecked, getting kicked out of our place, DH's car troubles, etc) I never thought it was going to end! But I think things are starting to look up finally.
I won a cell phone at this free event that was going on at a mall we went to. I went onstage with 3 other people and I won. I sold it for $110 because we do not have the service.
I am also getting trained for a promotion. I will be basically an assistant manager at my store. It will also come with another raise!
I dropped my cell phone and broke it, but a nice person on craigslist gave me one for free. And it's the same model as my old one!
I've just been trying to think positive, and stop dwelling on all the bad things that have been happening to us. And I told DH that even though we are in bad money position and can barely pay our bills, I am thankful that we CAN pay them, even if that means we have no spending money.
Thanks everyone for all your kind words, that has really helped me out as well!

You know, I think August is a cursefull month. Every year things go wrong in this month. September starts to balance things out and by October things are wonderful. At least this is how it always works for me. Things are still on the yucky side for us but I'm sure it will get better. I'm glad things are starting to balance out for you!!!
That's the spirit! Keep your chin up. Bad luck only hangs around so long. It's like a bully, ignore it long enough and it will find someone else to torture.

Yeah, I agree. Dh's brothers both had a lot of crap happen to them in August too, so it wasn't just us!

That is exactly how I feel. Every august things are crazy, this one was the worst for me. For instance my van broke down in Maine two hours from my house after a week of us camping. Luckily dh had his truck too so we packed all six of us in his truck (Good thing it has a back seat) with the dog on my lap and drive two hours home, then drive back up the next day to pick up the car when it was fixed! At least we didn't have all the kids and the dog for the second trip.
It sounds like your on the right track now and things are going much better for you.
