How to Handle
I sold and item on ebay that had to be shipped ground UPS. The item sold Friday afternoon and Monday was a holiday. I had to arrange shipping and pickup with UPS - Item was VERY heavy. The item has been shipped and the buyer should receive the item on Monday. She has now emailed me to say that I shouldn't ship because she has purchased another one.
First, this has already shipped so it is not like I can just not ship. Second, the auction stated ground shipping. How should I handle this? Can she demand money for something that she will recieve as a ground shipment in 10 days with 4 days being weekend and one day being a holiday. Only 4 working days.
I have nearly 200 all positive feedback and have only had 2 "issues" one with someone about a book that she obviously had second thoughts about and now this. I am sure that I followed all eBay policies and stated in the auction that a refund will be issued only if I misrepresent the item.
Sorry, for the rant I just feel badly when people aren't happy and I feel like I have done the right thing. I think if she puts up a fight I will just have to let her fight me through paypal because I am right. Also, it is an item she could easily put on for a Buy It Now and sell within 24 hours and probably for more money.

It's definitely not fair to you when someone has the winning bid and then changes their mind. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't eBay state somewhere that you should only bid if you intend to pay for the item if you win?
Then again, I understand your concern over feedback. Even if you're in the right, you might end up with a negative comment on your record. I guess it's what's worth more to you, the money or the feedback. I haven't had this experience yet, so I can't say what I would do. Good luck with your decision.

As a seller with almost 2000 Feedback, the ONLY way I would cancel that transaction was if she paid shipping BOTH ways. Buyer remorse is not acceptable on Ebay and yes there are policies for it. LMK how it all works out for you. Good luck!

First off you cant just "change your mind" when it comes to winning an item on ebay and 2ndly it's not your fault about the holidays AND how long the shipping company takes.
She cannot change her mind but a word of advice: Take pictures of the item you sent/will send just in case she claims the item was not as stated and make sure the pictures have a date on it so you can prove your part.

Have you gotten your money yet? I never ship anything until I'm paid. She can complain to ebay, but they won't take her side if you did everything right. She can put a negative feedback for you, but you can also put one for her as a buyer. When I see someone with like a 98% approval rating, I don't worry about it. 70% I would be concerned, maybe even 80%, but nobody can please everyone.

She paid and I mailed out the item. She expected something to get to her with ground shipping in two days. When she didn't get it in time she said she no longer wanted it but I had already shipped the item. She will have it on Monday. She doesn't have a lot of feedback. This was the first item she had purchased in about 9 months so I am not going to worry to much. I haven't heard from her today so maybe all is well.
thanks

OUch!
I hear you about the feedback. But I think right now what you're dealing with is an uneducated buyer, a pain, but... Hopefully, when she gets the item on Monday she will change her mind again. You will have the proof of shipment, anyone who looks at a calendar knows about the holiday, so it isn't that you shipped it late...if she dings you for it, I'd respond. But refund? No.
If she says it arrived damaged, see if the shipping company has any policies about this beforehand, just so you know. (UPS for example has automatic insurance, for up to $500, I think, or it used to be?)
Then, I'd wait and see what she does. She bought the item and paid for it. You did your part, you shipped it...
Let us know what happens and good luck!
