    Unhappy son quit pt job

well he told me yesterday that he didint think he could do it anymore. I know that some of the kids at his job are jerks. They try to boss him around and the main supervisor is pretty hateful. Noone likes her. But thats life. He told me it was too stressful there plus he knows with more school work getting harder and what the teachers expect out of him , he cant do it.
I just wish he would of given them a 1 week notice at least. He wont get good recomendations down the road. He doesnt seem to care.

It's disappointing, but it's really doesn't affect his future that much. No he can't use them on a resume, but he's so young at the moment. I'd just talk to him about the importance of giving notice, and how it will make a difference between a reference and no reference. I'd chalk it up to a learning experience. He had valid reasons, his school work load increasing, and they'd have understood that. So just have a chat and then next time he knows more.

He's only 14, I wouldn't worry too much about the resume aspect, only the attitude aspect I guess. Obviously in "real life" you can't just do that, but he's got several years left of maturing to do, so hopefully it won't become a habit. ((HUG))

Sounds like it was a pretty hostile work environment. Yeah, it would've been good to give notice...but schoolwork should come first... I don't blame him...I hate having to work with awful people. I'm sure he's learned from the experience...

thanks everyone!!! Hubby talked to him and he said leave him be, he'll learn , he's only a kid.he has to learn from his own mistakes, we all do.
He turned 15 yesterday and we gave him a wallet with his name on it. Its hand made. He liked it but wasn't that excited. I guess he was looking for something else but he told us he was thinking of getting one. kids!!!!
