paying bills

Maybe I'm just weird, but I am actually enjoying paying bills these days. I pay by check/snail mail because I like the process. After so many years of being stressed about money I can now calmly sit down, pay the bills, know that my finances are under control, and that there is now finally more money than month.

I'm curious, do some of you feel that way too? To the point where paying bills, while not quite fun, is definately satisfying.

I think probably the fact that you no longer stress about the bill paying process is what makes it so satisfying for you. Congratulations on getting your finances under control!

I'm exactly the same way (I'm definitely weird... my kids tell me every day.) Back went I wouldn't budget, I would always get stressed out about sitting down to pay bills. Now that I've written myself a payment schedule, it's actually enjoyable. I've made a chart that shows how each balance comes down every month... not just the one I'm focused on paying off, but the amortization of the other loans also. It's very satisfying to watch it come down!

I enjoy getting them paid too, especially the mortgage as I can watch it go DOWN!

I pay online though, prefer the convenience and savings. I pay them as soon as I come in from the mailbox and am done with them for the month!

I can't say it's something I enjoy b/c well, I just don't enjoy bookwork of any kind but I don't stress out over it anymore for the exact same reasons.

That part I enjoy alright.

I don't mind paying bills as long as there is money to pay them. It is when there is not enough money to pay them, and then you have to figure out which ones you should pay first and which ones can wait. That is where the stress comes in. I hate having so many bills, and not nearly enough money in the bank to pay them. I am actually dealing with that issue right now. Car insurance is due, and I have no clue where that money is coming from.

I love paying bills too, i used to dread them because we always had so many but nowadays we only have mortgage, electric, internet an cell phones. No other bills thus making me content paying them! Best part for me is I pay everything online, so I save time and money too!

i really love tracking my bills in an excel sheet that i made. ive got a years worth of "spending" records and can compare the me of today to the me of six months ago. knowing that i worked hard a certain months to use less water/electricity and then seeing the bill go down. it really motivates me to just try harder and keep those figures low.

i used to wait and wait to pay bills til the day they were due, just in case i needed that money for something else, some "emergency" that i always made myself think would spring up on me. and then id get stuck with late charges and things like that. now i pay everything the day that i get it and ive built up an EF and the weight that's been taken off my shoulders.. its incredible.

I swear we are all so alike it is scary, I was just thinking this on my way home from work last night!!!! I feel a "peace" as corny as that sounds, I just don't feel so stressed 3 times a month when it is time for bills.........glad to know I am not alone!!!

We pay most of our bills by snail mail, too...there's something gratifying about writing it out and watching the #'s go down on the balance! And yes, knowing there's money left in the account!

I am a list person, and a bill paying person. I love going online even if its to pay a few bucks towards something. So you are not alone!

I love paying bills as well. We sit down once a month and pay all bills...I look forward to it each month because the "leftovers" go towards our debt. Then as our paychecks accumulate during the month, it's exciting to see how much we have when it's time to pay bills again!!
