Hi from NJ
Hi, everybody I am from NJ and have been lurking here for probably a year or more. Due to poor financial choices and some dishonesty on my part, our finances are in shambles now. But, I came clean with my husband and we are now working on a plan to get ourselves free of this debt noose that is wrapped so tightly around our neck, and we are working together on it. It is going to take some time and sacrifice but for the first time in a long time I feel slightly optimistic about our money situation.
I look forward to all of your help and inspiration. My lurking has been primarily for the freebies but I am now committed to regularly partaking of the frugal knowledge that you all have so graciously supplied. Thanks in advance and good luck to all that might be in my situation or worse, (although I gotta tell you when I say we have debt, I mean a lot of debt) and I hope that no one is worse than we are.
On a personal not I am a 34 year-old SAHM who dawdles in Tupperware and Taste of Gourmet (though my spending on stuff for me is part of my debt, I am my own best customer, lol). I have 2 children and a husband who works too hard to be in this debt. And 2 furbabies.
I do not really post or chat so please forgive any faux pas I make as I am just getting used to smileies(sp), abbreviated expressions and so forth.
Whew, I am out of breath now. Have a great day all, and thanks again.Mom to:

So glad you joined us! Keep that optimistic attitude and you'll beat that debt! We all know where you're comin' from.
The Debt Reduction and Money Management forum is a great place to start!! It's helped me and my Dh leaps and bounds! We've still got a ways to go, but we're way better off than we were just 9 months ago when I joined!

Thanks
Thanks for all the happy hellos. I will be checking it all out and taking it all in. My husband has been doing his homework too. Working on a budget over the weekend, wish me luck! My biggest spending problem is my grocery bill. I have been checking out the spam! It is better fried than typedspam! It is better fried than typedspam! It is better fried than typedspam! It is better fried than typedspam! It is better fried than typedspam! It is better fried than typedspam! It is better fried than typedspam! It is better fried than typedspam! It is better fried than typed Housewife and I will be checking more of the forums here as well but any tips on cutting back on the groceries for a very picky family is most-appreciated.
My husband is a meat eater and my kids do not eat pasta. I would love to hear about how all of you get those super low grocery numbers. I am not sure if it is because we live in NJ but everything is so costly. I know when we visited my in-laws in western PA thier Super Walmart had such good deals that I wish I could have stocked up on some things and brought them home, but with a 9 hour car ride it just was not feasible. We do not have any Super Walmarts here, and I just have to vent for a minute. I went to Dollar General today and the woman could not have been more unpleasant, she was irritated by the fact that I had coupons, would not accept one (even though it was most certainly the correct product) and did not take that product off after I said I did not want it (although it was not put in my bag). I have to be more careful, that is what I get for going in and having to be out to get my son from pre-school. I got stuck for a little longer than expected because of arguing about the coupons and then did not get a chance to check things before I left the store. That'll teach me! LOL
Thanks again and any help is greatly appreciated!Mom to:
