    Default pack n play pad?

We have a pack n play that we bought for dd before she was born. I was thinking that if dd is not ready for a toddler bed by the time the new baby is too big for a bassinet that I could use the pack n play as a crib for a while. The bad thing is, is that the bottom is pretty hard. I don't know how that could be comfortable for a little one to sleep on. I've looked for a pad or something I could put in there to make it more comfy but haven't found one yet. Has anyone heard of anything like this? or might know where to find one? Dh said we could make one out of foam but I really don't know how safe that would be. I'm sure that we would need it to be snug against the sides so there is no danger of sufocation. ANy one have any ideas?

~I think you could just take a couple of baby quilts and wrap them around the bottom board. You should probably secure them will velcro or elastic straps. My DD is the Princess and the Pea. For awhile she wouldn't sleep on her Beautyrest mattress unless it was covered in 2 layers of fleece blankets. This was after she was able to roll over well. I was going to suggest cutting up a yoga mat to size but I don't know what material they're made of and whether or not it would be safe.~

look at babies r us for a porta crib pad. i mil found one there for her granddaughter. are you using it for the new baby? if so, remember it shouldn't be too soft. babies should be sleeping on something firmer instead of softer.

What if you were to fold the mat over two or three times?

Thanks. I found one at baby's r us but they wanted $15 for shipping! WOW. So I looked around a little and Walmart has it for less than $20 and it's free shipping to store. So that is probably how I will go. Thanks again.
