OMG I ATE A FROG!!!
Yes REALLY!!! LOL, Ya'all can call me a REAL country girl now! We went to a game roast yesterday and all I can say is YUM, THOSE GUYS CAN COOK!! We had smoked goose, elk steak, caribou kabobs, dove breast wrapped in bacon, frogs legs (yes, they taste like chicken) and even SQUIRREL!!! (AKA tree rats to them, lol!~)
And I ate ALL of them!
It was AWESOME!! And those guys can do up the potato salad, baked beans and fries with the best of us, yum! Oh and the wives put out the BEST DESSERTS!!
I'm STILL STUFFED!!
We let these guys duck/goose hunt on our place and in return they supply smoked goose for our Christmas dinner and invite us for the roast, it was just AWESOME!

Frog legs are awesome. My husband loves squirrel. He's from KY and introduced me to the frog legs. What does elk taste like? Does it taste like beef? Better?

I've had deer, but never elk or caribou. Wonder if they taste the same. Never had frog legs, but I've had squirrel.

No gator or snake, we're in Ohio and no good eatin snakes here and not many gators (they do occasionally confiscate them from people, lol!) No possum or ground hog either, but really I've been told that young ground hog is really good roasted!
I will try anything once, but REALLY glad they didn't have turtle soup there because I just love turtles. The frogs were a bit hard for me to eat at first, I really like frogs too, I just kept joking that I was picturing all the little frogs in wheel chairs
The elk was GREAT, it was elk steak and they seasoned it wonderfully. These guys really knew what they were doing!
I'd encourage anyone to try any of them if you get a chance, well worth it!
