Default What's that organization where you can buy the food boxes?

I cannot for the life of me remember the name of that nat'l organization where you can order the discounted boxes of food once a month from.

Can anyone help me out with the name of it and maybe the web site?

An online friend of mine has been left by her spouse and leaving her and her 3 children without support. She's filed for assistance and has hired an attorney but needs help at least until she can get to court.

I want to pass on the information to her.

Thanks a lot for the info. She lives in WV. Anyone know of any state specific things there I might be able to direct her to besides the usual state programs?

Yes, I want to kick his butt. Why some "fathers" think they can walk out on their entire family is beyond me. My dh knows I'd be a pit bull if he ever pulled a stunt like that. I always joke with my dh that after 8+ years of marriage it's cheaper to keep me.

If her children are 5 and under, she can get WIC for them.

Have her also check with her church and the local food bank for short term emergency help, that's what the food bank is there for! We have an organization here called People to People, they don't ask questions, you don't have to register, they don't judge. They supply food as needed and a smile too.

And I swear I'm about to start a cross country organization to go after these guys, oh wait, gotta add Canada too Got one in mind up there that needs a whuppin!

Salvation army will give you emergency dry groceries, plus a gift card to get milk, eggs, etc.
