I gave up my Dunkin Donuts coffee!!!
I recently gave up coffee(having lots of anxiety so figured it would help), it has been one month. I would buy a large Dunkin Donuts coffee everyday spending over $2.00. I sometimes would buy a muffin or a bagel before work. I figured I spent at the very least 18.00 a week. UGGHH! Well I have not missed it. I bring a cup of tea with me for the ride to work. Make my breakfast. I am saving a bundle and I feel a whole lot better. I do sometimes crave it but I don't want to restart a bad habit. I think I have lost a couple of pounds because of it, all that cream and sugar and fat in the muffins and bagels.

Good for you, it's hard to break a habit. I swore off the snack machine at work for the last 2 weeks and lost 3 pounds and saved over $10

Good for you!! That really adds up at the end of the year. I haven't cut the coffee completely, I'm down to one cup a day (,75¢). But you're right on the anxiety.. it definitely helps to control.

WTG!!!!
I have been able to keep away from the Starbucks & Dunkin Donuts (both on my way), the vending machines, and the cafeteria at my college so far this semester. I bring my own coffee, snacks, and I made homemade sausage, egg & cheese biscuits a few weeks ago. Those are YUMMY breakfasts!

Good for you! I'm trying to cut back on coffee as well. I made the decision when I had to go without food for some blood tests, and had a caffeine withdrawal headache. I've been drinking tea lately, only one of those little "sample" cups of coffee at work, if that.
The bad part is, I actually just bought a new large thing of coffee, and still have some stockpiled.
I'm going to try to just drink one cup in the morning from now on. I do love my morning coffee, and while I treated myself to some Tazo tea the other day (2.99 on sale), I still miss coffee.

That's great!!! I would LOVE to quit drinking my Coke Zero and Diet Dr. Pepper each day, but I really think the withdrawal from the caffeine might just be too much.
Anyway, I admire you for doing so well.

Kudos to you. I cannot (nor do I wish to) give up my coffee. I just need to brew at home and not buy while out. Much cheaper!
I think I've finally got my dh switched to Publix brand soda. 34 cents on sale this week for a 2 liter. Much better than over $1 for a name brand soda.

WTG!! You could start saving that money every week in the form of a gift card for yourself.
What I do is put 20.00 a month on a Target Gift Card (that's the store I chose this year)for myself...I've been doing this since the 1st of the year and this XMAS I will use it all for me!! I don't count this as part of our Christmas Club savings....it's only for ME!!Donna F.

I too was once a DD coffee addict.
I gave it up and started making my coffee at home... works out well because now I can make 1/2 regular 1/2 decaf. Saves money, but it was one of the toughest things I've given up in my quest to be a tightwad!
Congratulations on this accomplishment!
