I'm ready to quit my job...
I was working towards a great promotion, as some of you might know. Saturday, the boss took me aside to talk. She told me that she had to make a quick decision, and gave the position to someone else. I wasn't aware I was competing for it! She gave me a big schpiel about how she wants to keep developing me, and that there will be a second position opening up in a month. The next day, I worked with the girl who took my promotion. We were changing around the walls in the store, and I got stuck with a lot of her dirty work. I thought it was completely unfair.
I am tired of working long hours, and almost every day of the week. I have not spent much time with my family, and not getting that promotion has made it even less worth the stress. I told DH, and he didn't even argue with me.
I think I'll give it a month, and if that position doesn't open up I am going to call it quits.

Are you sure we don't have the same boss?
It totally sounds like something she would pull, lol. I'm with you on giving it a month... who knows, maybe the other position will open up. Good luck and keep us posted.

I've had such terrible experiences with female bosses, I would NEVER work for a woman again. (I know, I know, please don't flog me for saying that!) I totally understand, and I'm sorry you are going through this. I hope you get a big fat promotion and become HER boss! Or... at least you can find a job where you are happy.
