Default Question #112 What would you...

If you were at a friend's house for Thanksgiving dinner and you found a cockroach in your salad, what would you do?

I would probably stop eating and if asked about it I'd explain that I wasn't feeling well. I would probably refrain from spending much time there in the future as well as I have a HUGE phobia of roaches.

Honestly? I always do Thanksgiving dinner here, no roaches but umm, please overlook the dog hair!

I actually would probably point it out, then feed it to the dog. (I know, I'm GROSS but deal with bugs daily on the farm)

Most things like that wouldn't bother me near as much as I'm pretty much a nature/animal lover but roaches and rats really, really, scheeve me.

Scream. I've only seen two cockroaches in my life, and that was the response both times.

If it was the huge monsters we have down here, you really couldn't miss it. I would quit eating. I would be more inclined to worry about their little black pieces of poop.

Well after I screamed, and cried, and finished jumping up and running out of the house like my hair was on fire I would feel very bad and I'd have to call and apologize (because I would NOT be going back over there!) I don't think I would feel judgemental like they were dirty people because I DO know anyone can get one ( I can't even type the word) occas. I however am the person who would move leaving all my stuff, hubb, and kids behind if I found one in my own home because I do NOTNOTNOT do "those" and I would be terrified they were hiding in my furniture or something waiting to attack me. Ummm yeah I am that big baby who has massive phobia over "them" lol

I would probably make some kind of noise and of course not eat it, dont know if I would tell anyone what I found because I would hate to embarass anyone BUT...

I know for sure my feet would be up off the ground for fear of finding more.

    Default Cockroaches. YUM

Well being raised poor in the south, living in apartments most of my childhood. i can remember turning on the lights at night in the kitchen and it look like someone had set up a roach fair. YEP. there were rides and cottoncandy machines. I am sure, as a kid, i have eaten more than my share. I have visited elderly people who cant afford a bug man, and had to stomp my feet to try to keep them at bay while i was visiting. I still live in the south and still see cockroaches from time to time. I have my home sprayed so i dont have a problem. BUT THE QUESTION. I would not eat the salad. i would not make a big deal of it. I would try to ignore it and not say anything. I am sure my host would be so devastated if they seen it. I dont know which would be worse. TO really make a big deal of it or to just pick it out of the salad drop it and stomp the little bugger. I do however understand that people from the north, dont have so much of a problem as the south and it would probadly scare the bejesus out of them. If i just seen one at someone house and not in my food. i would just ignore and pretend i didnt see it.

Being in the south myself, coackroaches are pretty common. We also have these gaint ones called palmetto bugs. They live in palm trees and since palmtrees are everywhere even very clean homes get the occasional roach that wonders in.

If I were to see one in my food I would stop eating and just act as if I was full! I wouldnt say anything becuase I wouldnt want to hurt anyfeelings.

I would just discard *it* in a napkin. I probably couldn't eat anymore. Then quietly & privately inform the host, so she/he could discreetly get it (the salad) off the serving table.

Bugs happen. Hair happens. It's gross & creepy, but I'd give the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure she didn't *mean* for it to be there. LOL!
I'd want someone to tell me. It'd be better than finding out 10 years later when everyone's talking & laughing about it.

That's what I'd do, I'd just quite eating and act like I had a terrible headache or something.
