WOW! This is unreal!

I opened a mailbox just to join My Points. That was on August 27. To date, I've gotten 3278 spam messages in that box. I usually get about 10-20 a day that get through the spam filters.

Anyone else have this problem with My Points?

i used to do my points many years ago. you do get a lot of spam. i finally (after a lonnnng time) got enough points for a $10 giftcard, then i quit it. ;o)

see... i never thought to open a separate account for things like mypoints. wish i would have thought of that first.

I have a mailbox just for mypoints and sweepstakes I enter. I have my Mypoints account stuff sent there and DH's routed to it as well. We only get around 25 - 35 spam items a day on average. It really doesn't bother me. I expected to get some spam. Everyday I just go through the emails that come directly from Mypoints, click on them and the link to get my credit and move on.

I have been a member for about a year and I have close to 4,000 points on one account and 1,400 on the other.

i always use gmail for anything i sign up for....ALL freebies and stuff like that!! lol! i still get a LOT of spam in gmail too!

Yep, this is a gmail account I have. I'm not an online shopper, so I doubt I'll ever get enough points with MyPoints to add up to anything. I never even go there anymore. I've started making filters for some of the worst spammers.

Well, you can always open one and then go to MyPoints and change your email addy.

I have set up a separate email address just for stuff like MyPoints and free samples...and yes, I do get tons of spam.But I just go through & quickly delete anything that I don't recognize. On some days, MyPoints is good to send me a bunch of ads to read -sometimes I can earn up to 35 points or better just doing that.

Add me to the list of people that set up a separate account for potential spam - I enter sweepstakes, sign up for freebies - anything like that. I get on average 60-70 emails a day, about 25% of them are just absolutely junk. I only check it once a week. Every now and then I'll actually go through and follow the "unsubscribe" instructions or block senders.
