I was a drowned rat
I had to go to the grocery last night. When I walked in, it was very lightly sprinkling. When I walked out, it was a monsoon! It has been a LONG time since it rained like that. I was absolutely drenched getting my groceries into the car. My umbrella was totally useless against that much rain.
I got it even worse when I got home and had to unload the groceries. Plus I had on sandals and I could barely walk without sliding out of them. . .and then there was super loud thunder and lots of lightening.
I literally looked like a drowned rat when I looked at myself in the mirror. Hair and clothes drenched beyond belief. . .black eyeliner streaming down my face.
Today, I went and got myself a Golf Umbrella. . .62 inches wide. I'm ready now!!

Does anybody remember those umbrellas back in the 70's that were kind of mushroom shaped, were clear vinyl, and came down over your head and onto your shoulders? I think they were called bubbly umbrellas or something like that. Now, they were GREAT for keeping you dry.

I hate it when it rains & I'm wearing sandals. It squicks me out lol,
We have a golf umbrella, it's fantastic for picking up the boys from school in the rain. It's big enough for all three of us to fit under it comfortably.

Lol Lori, I feel your meltingness, lol.
Lately I've been timing it right with the rain "knock on wood" and I usually get everything in before the monsoon.
Hoping your timing is better next trip!~*Darlene*~

We called them Bubble Umbrellas. They were great for one person, could see and be protected unless the wind came up. http://images.google.com/images?sour...=1&sa=N&tab=wi

I remember the bubble umbrellas. They were the neatest thing. Wish they still made them.

I am hoping I get my sister in our Christmas gift exchange so that I can get her one of these. We used to fight over who got to use it! I loved that thing!
