I thought this was a super idea too, but last I checked it didn't work for Wegmans cards and that's the card I use most.

i just keep a seperate ring that has all the little keychain tags. i keep my key rings on a carabeaner so i can take off the ones i don't need. i only take the tags when i'm going shopping.
neat idea though, just not motivated enough to go through the steps.
